Opinion
Innovation is a constant part of life and is very important for education and training. It improves learning by encouraging creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to change. By using new methods and technologies, interactive learning environments can be made that meet the needs of people with different learning styles and interests. Innovation encourages collaboration, teamwork, and real-world applications. It also prepares people for their future jobs by exposing them to cutting-edge technologies, industry trends, and methods.
Past Experience
My financial aid presentations for freshman seminars have always been lengthy and boring PowerPoint slideshows. Kahoot! was a great tool for the final quiz, which I gave to the class. In this class, I had to make an infographic to present information about a certain subject. I made one that explains financial assistance in general and another that clarifies the difference between academic and financial aid suspension. I was able to turn my bland, text-only PowerPoint into a visually appealing presentation that piqued the interest of my audience.
Future Goals
I plan to make a series of short videos to accompany talks explaining various aspects of financial aid to students and their families. I'd also like to use video editing and screen recording programs to make more user-friendly and engaging
lesson videos and screen recordings for doing tasks on the computer. I have a word document with screenshots that I'd like to put into a series of instructional videos. I believe that the fact that I am using sensitive information in the videos and do not know how to edit it out or blur it is what is preventing me from moving forward.
